Gates, security doors and welding in Sahuarita, AZ

About half an hour south of our Tucson shop, straight down I-19.

Sahuarita sits along I-19 south of Tucson, with the Santa Rita Mountains to the east and the long rows of pecan orchards along the Santa Cruz River. From our shop on East 36th Street it is about half an hour down the interstate.

What we build in Sahuarita

Much of Sahuarita is newer stucco homes behind block walls, in neighborhoods like Rancho Sahuarita. The usual list there: side yard gates and wide gates for trailers and RVs, security doors or iron and glass doors for the front entry, and patio covers and carports to shade a bare backyard slab. Corrugated steel fences, rolling gates and railings and custom welding are on the table too.

Gates in a block wall

A lot of Sahuarita yards are closed in by block walls with an opening left for a gate. That makes the gate the one piece of steel everyone sees from the street, and it has to hang from the wall or from its own posts without sagging. Daniel measures the opening, checks how the gate will be mounted, and builds the frame to suit, whether it is a single walk gate or a double gate wide enough for an RV.

HOAs and finishes

Many neighborhoods here have design rules on color. Bring the guidelines and we will build to them. Satin black and a bronze tone both sit well against tan stucco, and raw corrugated steel weathers to a rust brown that suits the desert around town.

Questions from Sahuarita homeowners

Can you fit a gate into an existing block wall?

Usually, yes. Daniel measures the opening and checks how the gate will mount, either on the block or on new steel posts beside it.

Which finish should I pick?

That comes down to the look you want. Satin black and a bronze tone suit tan stucco, and raw steel weathers to rust brown. Bring your HOA color rules if you have them.
